it's time to give the country back to the grownups! [more congress watch below]

while listening to john kerry on the floor of the senate today, one fact became crystal clear:  our government has been in the control of petulent children for the last twelve years!

kerry's speech was written, yes, and delivered with finese - absolutely. what, other than presentation, distinguishes kerry (and the other democrats who speak of changes in direction for our country)?

understanding, that's what.  the words that kerry and others speak, they understand.  the concepts and direction they put forward, they understand!  the ramification and long term consequences of the proposals they make, they understand!

but there is more to be said on this...

the democrats who stand and speak, both in the house and the senate, speak of ideals, of direction, of actions that come from historical learning while their republican colleagues speak in terms of phraseology, ideology of party and solidity of party.

hearing a kerry speech, a webb speech, a CONVERSATION by these representatives and senators consists of immediacy and complete understanding of the facts, the circumstances of those facts and of issues.

for the 2008 election, how can we use this  revelation?  we need to make SURE that the visual and audio presentations of candidates are shown along side their counterparts.  democratic candidates MUST be placed side by side with their opposition on the same topics - their views aired side by side.  in this way, we can show the nation that it is indeed time to restore washington and this nation to the competent hands of those who are unafraid to look at the hard truths of the problems that face our country.

i truly believe that the major political windshift is due to the realization that this nation has allowed the children, those with unformed and uninformed policies play with this thing we call democracy.  as hard a lesson as it may be, i think america has finally learned that you don't let children play with matches.

now, it is left to us to put out the fires.
